I am Mohanad, a young man from Gaza. I lived my life among the streets of Gaza, next to the sea, accompanied by the sunset. I lived through all of the wars in Gaza. I took many pictures and many moments of the children of Gaza, of the streets of Gaza, of its sunset, of its elders, of its youth, of its animals, of its sadness, of its joy, of its wars, of its dignity for everything in it. I documented many of the effects, and was one of many artists depicting Gaza throughout occupation and siege. I love photography and I love the camera. I imagine everything as if it were a scene from the cinema. This present genocide was the most powerful blow to my life and my work, even to my thinking. Many of Gaza’s artists and my friends and collaborators were martyred by bombs. Members of my family too. My home has been destroyed. All the streets and scenery that my camera captured are gone. This genocide destroyed all the dreams I had.

I was able to evacuate myself and my family to Egypt before the Rafah crossing was sealed. I try to make it on my own and support my family of 13 through my photography, but life is very difficult for nonresidents, we live in fear for our immigration status. Your support is greatly appreciated during this troubled time.
